Hosting Open Houses and showing your property to prospective tenants

In-house application screening, including credit check with FICO score, checking rental history, employment verification and providing optional background and criminal history reports

Formal recommendations of all qualified applicants

Preparing and completing the lease agreement and any required local addenda

Collecting the holding deposit, security deposit, and first month’s rent

Conducting the initial walk through/ move-in inspection of the property with your new tenant and completing the necessary forms for your records

Promptly providing you with signed lease documents and any accounting associated with the transaction
Our fee for this service is 80% of the first months rental income for leases of 9-12 months, or half of one month's rental income on leases less than 9 months and is payable only after we have located a qualified tenant for your home!

Michael is a licensed real estate broker and the owner of Haven Real Estate which is located in the East Bay in California. Focusing on leasing and property management, his nearly 20 years of experience in real estate has resulted in a large client base of loyal, repeat customers and many wonderful friendships. His background also includes more than 20 years of construction and project management experience allowing him to provide clients with a valuable suite of services related to property improvements.
Michael believes home is a sacred space. Whether you are buying, renting, or renovating a home, this ‘space’ is so much more than shelter. For most, it embodies a place of peace, privacy and serenity, and is where family and friends gather to create lifelong memories. It is your Haven. When he started his career in real estate almost two decades ago, he understood the importance and magnitude of this distinction, and it has constantly informed his business philosophy and approach to client interactions. Commitment, clear communication, and understanding clients' specific needs are his focus. Michael will always work diligently on their behalf and views the work together as a meaningful collaboration.
When Michael is not helping clients, he enjoys spending time at home in Albany with Rakiya, his wonderful wife of 20 years, and his two fabulous sons Moby and James. He loves music, cooking, and camping on the coast, and has an endless list of home improvement projects that he aspires to catch up on.
